Smith College - Master Plan
Smith College

T|G’s challenge in developing the Landscape Master Plan was to expand Fredrick Law Olmsted’s vision of 1892 while enhancing the aesthetic, pedagogical and communal values of the contemporary institution. The resultant plan, prepared with Cornelia Hahn Oberlander, achieves these goals with a strategic application of core planning principles that clarify circulation, expand and visually connect open spaces and connects to the regional landscape setting.

Implementation of the plan is being accomplished by a series of site and building projects including the Arts Center, the Campus Center, the Conservatory and Ford Hall, the engineering building. Towers|Golde has continued to serve the College as Campus Landscape Architect, consulting on projects large and small.
