This new field headquarters building for Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife is planned to be a Zero Net Energy, LEED Platinum building. Currently under construction, it will serve as Mass Wildlife’s operational headquarters as well as a center for environmental information and education programs.
Towers|Golde’s design provides a welcoming, programmatically rich setting that seamlessly integrates interior and exterior spaces while incorporating sustainable landscape elements that demonstrate general best management practices as well as Mass Wildlife’s more specific educational goals. The site’s organizing feature will be a rain garden for the capture and infiltration of storm water runoff as well as a venue for environmental education. Indigenous vegetation will be used to illustrate materials and techniques of planting for wildlife habitat.
