This cancer treatment center has been designed as a welcoming, green and sustainable campus for the easy use of cancer patients and staff. The new outpatient surgery and treatment center links existing radiation/oncology and medical office buildings, organized around a central healing garden. A five-level garage is linked to the complex via a pedestrian bridge.
Towers|Golde’s site design includes vehicular and pedestrian circulation. A generous proportion of evergreens provide screening at the site edges, and an existing wetland is being enhanced with improved storm water management and replanting. The garage is partially screened with flowering vines grown on an elevated green screen system.
The healing garden is a visual focus for the complex with rich palette of plantings while a waterfall and pool provide soothing respite in the sunken terrace.
