Sterling Power Plant Co-Generation Expansion

Towers|Golde’s site design for this major infrastructure project draws from the original bucolic character of this historic campus landscape while accommodating new programmatic uses, handicapped accessibility, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, and service vehicle and emergency access requirements. Particular attention was given to the streetscape and site entry zone, a gateway landscape critical to the public perception of the Medical School.

The naturally flowing sequence of open lawn spaces helped shape the buildings and are reinforced by tree plantings, site walls, and careful grading of the landscape. Existing trees and the lawn used for graduation ceremonies were preserved while future relationships to possible University developments across the street were carefully anticipated.
