A New Welcoming Arrival Plaza for North Shore Community College

North Shore Community College strives to be a catalyst for personal, community and regional change through education, training and civic engagement. The College serves an increasingly diverse student body and offers new opportunities to create better lives for North Shore residents and a vibrant future for the region.

Towers|Golde’s goal in this Master Plan was to create a new arrival experience and visible ‘brand’ image that would transform the public perception of the institution. The principal components of the plan were a welcoming arrival plaza to the campus on the Broad Street side of the property, an inner courtyard for the students and staff linking the new, northern building with the more southerly renovated portion of the college, and a naturalistic, park-like space to the west, blending into the existing planted, mounded lawn areas.
