Pierson College, Yale Residential College

The courtyards of Pierson College were completely rebuilt as part of Yale University’s residential college renovation program. Towers|Golde’s design restored and enhanced the original Beatrix Farrand design, adjusting for accessibility and changed uses. A new residential addition required an appropriately more modern courtyard.
Towers|Golde also exploited a series of abandoned narrow spaces between buildings by removing walls and fences, resulting in a visually delightful mews with special paving, plantings and lighting.
