Janet Fields Memorial Garden, Northern Westchester Hospital

Towers|Golde redesigned and expanded an old patio into a lush garden court for NWH donated by a former patient’s family. A relaxing and restorative design was created providing generous seating in a terrace of bluestone paving, enclosing handcrafted stone walls and an abundant variety of plants.
A sparkling, gurgling stream is a focal feature, cascading over waterfalls into a planted pool with popular koi fish. This is also seen from the interior, adjacent dining areas, effectively putting all diners ‘in the garden’. A custom pergola with flowering vines and integral lighting creates a special seating area, while the entire space is defined and enclosed from traffic noise with wood fencing. A masonry stair, stone seat wall, and evening accent lighting complete the scene.
