Fairfield Public Library

The Fairfield Library renovation and expansion project dramatically augmented the town’s ability to service its extraordinarily active constituency. Towers|Golde designed a new entry plaza, an accessible pedestrian access from Route 1, enhanced parking and side entry which all served to make the library more dignified and approachable.
The site design honors the historic corner building’s facade while clarifying the new arrival options. The pre-existing landscaping of the facility to remain was renewed and the historic trees were protected. The new entry facade was enlivened with an arrival court featuring a specimen Japanese maple as well as seating and ceremonial space.
