T|G took the lead and has implemented two of the key projects of the Newcomb-McAlister Unified Green Master Plan to create a pedestrian core to the campus, consolidating the once separate Tulane and Newcomb College landscapes around a common green. The first, McAlister Place, is now a pedestrian mall where once was the University’s busiest vehicular way. Native plantings and stormwater infrastructure now replace the pre-existing parking at either side. The second project, Newcomb Plaza, also converts existing vehicular space to the pedestrian while connecting the axial Newcomb Hall to the Green with a new, but historicist plaza.  New lighting around the Green further unify the spatial organization of the space.
